Unitel Engineering launches serial production of protection devices for distribution networks

Unitel Engineering, part of NEC Group’s Automation and Communications Systems division, has launched serial production of the UNIT-M300 and UNIT-VIP relay protection and automation devices. These terminals are designed to protect electrical equipment and automate 6–35 kV distribution networks.

Both devices have passed certification to confirm compliance with the technical requirements of Rosseti PJSC and received positive assessments from the certification commission. The equipment has been recommended for use at facilities operated by Rosseti’s branches and subsidiaries.

The UNIT-M300 is Unitel Engineering’s flagship development for protecting electrical equipment and automating 6–35 kV networks, including highly automated substations.

The UNIT-VIP is designed for 6–20 kV networks. Its key feature is the ability to operate without a separate auxiliary power supply system. The device is installed in the relay compartments of metal-enclosed switchgear (MV switchgear and gas-insulated switchgear).

To facilitate the deployment of the new devices, Unitel Engineering specialists have developed standard circuit diagrams and submitted them to design organizations. Unitel Engineering is ready to supply the equipment for use at power facilities and in distribution networks.
